Charlie Thomas

I am a seasoned aviator whose passion for flying has defined my life's journey. With a career spanning nine years in the United States Navy, earning my Wings of Gold marked the beginning of an extraordinary adventure in the skies.

Initially stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, I piloted the formidable MH53E Sea Stallion with HM-15. Deployments to the Middle East, along with involvement in numerous Natural Disaster relief efforts, showcased dedication and expertise in aerial operations under challenging conditions.

Following my initial tour In Virginia, I moved to San Diego, assuming the role of a Weapons and Tactics Officer at Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Pacific. Following my time at the Weapons School, I moved across the street, where I currently serve as a Tactics Officer at HSC-21. In this role I act at the lead instructor pilot. Leadership and proficiency in helicopter operations play a pivotal role in mission success.

Beyond military service, dedicating myself to nurturing the next generation of aviators as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/I) has brought me immense joy. With over four years of experience in this capacity, sharing knowledge and expertise with aspiring pilots in the General Aviation community has been rewarding. Accumulating over 400 hours instructing students, imparting invaluable lessons and instilling a passion for aviation in each one.

Embodying the spirit of adventure and excellence in aviation, continually pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the skies and inspiring others to follow their dreams aloft.
